The Carnival Legend, one of 22 ships in the Carnival Fun Fleet, boasts 7 days of action-packed fun on the Western Caribbean ideal for singles, couples, or families.

Cruising provides vacationers with a cost-effective way to travel all over the globe. The Carnival Legend Western Caribbean itinerary includes stops in Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize and Isla Roatan.

Housed with 6 decks of spacious staterooms, travelers can find the perfect accommodations. For the more cost-conscious, there are numerous interior staterooms. If a window is of the utmost importance, an upgrade can be made to an ocean view. As the options for upgrades increase, such as a balcony or suite, so does the cost.

Western Caribbean Ports of Call

Although the Carnival Legend departs Tampa, FL, at 4 pm, early travelers can begin to board the ship around noon. While the stateroom may not be ready immediately for early boarders, the Lido deck provides buffets of food, and at least one swimming pool is typically open. A loud horn signaling departure is followed by a sailing-away party.

Grand Cayman and Belize are ports that require tenders. Tenders are small boats that bring ship passengers from the ship to land. Typically, tenders are required because the water is too shallow to get too close to land. If travelers choose to book excursions through someone other than Carnival, enough time should be allocated to leave and return to the ship by tender.

In Cozumel and Isla Roatan, cruisers are able to immediately debark the ship without waiting for a tender.

There is plenty of shopping within walking distance at all four ports of call. This does provide the greatest sense of security for most shoppers, but the more adventurous can always find better deals by delving past the typical tourist shops.

Carnival Legend On-Board Entertainment

Entertainment on the Carnival Legend is top-notch. Carnival dancers and performers, an orchestra, magicians and comedians are offered nightly in the Follies Lounge. A two-story, comfortable seating area, is also the staging area for daily Bingo games, games that interact with the guests (such as the Not so Newlywed Game), and various presentations.

The Carnival Legend boasts numerous clubs and bars, a casino with slots and tables, live entertainment all across the ship, and various pools (one with a slide, and one just for adults!). A jogging track on the highest level of the ship surrounds a miniature golf course. There is also a complimentary indoor fitness gym located next to the Spa.

Dining Options on the Carnival Legend

Included with the price of the cruise is 24-hour access to food to please all palettes, as well as unlimited water, iced tea, and coffee. Unlimited soda cards, as well as alcoholic beverages, can be purchased separately.

Open dining is available on the Lido deck, with casual dining and 24-hour pizza.

Room service is available 24 hours a day, but can get backed up a bit on a big show night.

The Carnival Legend offers three options for Main Dining in the Truffles Restaurant. Besides the traditional early and late seating (6:00 and 8:15 pm), the Carnival Legend now offers Your Time Dining, which offers open seating between 5:45 and 9:30. The Truffles Restaurant provides a more elegant atmosphere with more succulent options that makes dining out legendary. Some of the more tantalizing choices range from Lobster, to Prime Rib, to Braised Lamb. For the more traditional eaters, Flat Iron Steak and Ribs are available every night.

For special seating accommodations, or to change a scheduled dining option, the maitre d is usually available for a few hours on the day of debarkation.

The Golden Fleece Steakhouse, an upscale dining restaurant, offers an unforgettable dining experience at a nominal fee per guest.

Carnival Legend Cruise Activities for Kids and Teens

Carnival offers a fleet-wide program for kids ages 2-11, Camp Carnival. At Camp Carnival, kids can participate in various activities as they choose, helping to burn off some pent up energy and ensuring fun for the whole family.

Circle C is a program designed for the pre-teens (12-14), while Club O2 caters to the older teens, 15-17.
