Economy: Honduras is one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. It relies on trade with the United States of their products like melons and shrimp for economic growth.
Climate: Tropical in the lowlands and mild in the mountains.

To Roatan, Continental has a direct flight from Houston on Saturday and Sunday while Delta offers a flight from Atlanta on Saturdays only. TACA flies from Houston on Saturdays and from Miami on Sundays.
To Tegucigalpa, Continental flies from Houston daily and American from Miami. Both flights leave daily.
Vaccinations: There are no required vaccinations for entering Honduras, but your doctor may recommend a malaria vaccine before visiting some rural areas, and maybe even Roatan and the other Bay Islands.
